Auburn didn’t play on its bye week last Saturday, which meant that it couldn’t get better — or worse, for that matter.
This seems to be reflected in USA Today’s latest college football re-rank, where the Tigers have stayed at a stagnant No. 75 with no change from last week. [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] and his squad should hope that the bye week will leave the squad rested and ready for its matchup against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday.
Auburn isn’t in good company. The team is one spot above the Missouri Tigers, who moved up one place from last week, but is surrounded by teams unbefitting of its status. Rice, Middle Tennessee and Alabama-Birmingham all stand above the Tigers and Rutgers, Eastern Michigan and Old Dominion stand just below it.
The Tigers’ next opponent, the Arkansas Razorbacks, are ranked much higher. The Razorbacks are currently No. 32 on the list, and a bye week has also kept them stagnant with no chance from last week’s rankings. It will certainly be a task for the Tigers to upset the Razorbacks, but the win would be just what they need to get this season back on track as its end rapidly approaches.
