Analyzing Monday’s Orlando Magic at New York Knicks odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The New York Knicks (1-1) welcome the Orlando Magic (0-3) to Madison Square Garden Monday. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (NBATV). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Magic vs. Knicks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Magic might not have a win yet this season, but they have been a fun team to watch behind the impressive play of No. 1 overall pick Paolo Banchero, who is averaging 23.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.

Orlando is coming off a 126-120 loss Friday to the Boston Celtics, covering as 8.5-point home underdogs. The Magic are 1-2 against the spread (ATS) this season.

The Knicks are 1 of the 5 teams undefeated ATS. New York beat the Pistons 130-106 in its last game on Thursday and opened the season with a 115-112 road overtime loss to Memphis.

The Knicks are led in scoring by F Julius Randle, who is averaging 19.5 points per game. New York has 7 players averaging in double figures through 2 games.

Magic at Knicks picks and predictions

Prediction

Knicks 113, Magic 108

Moneyline

PASS.

The Magic have a good roster, and they may pose a threat to New York. Nonetheless, I’ll pass on predicting Orlando to get its 1st win of the season on the road.

Against the spread

BET MAGIC +7.5 (-112).

Compared to where they were a season ago, the Magic have played well despite being winless. They sit 16th in the league in effective field goal percentage, 1 spot above the Knicks. They also sit 21st in offensive rating.

The main struggles for the Magic have been defensively, and while the Knicks sit 7th in offensive rating, they don’t have an MVP-caliber scorer, so this seems a tad inflated, especially considering they were 23rd a season ago.

Orlando has a few young guns who have impressed. Couple that with a spread this large, and I’d back the Magic to cover.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 218.5 (-112).

The Knicks sit 6th in the NBA in offensive rebounding rate and added G Jalen Brunson in the offense, which has tremendously aided their halfcourt attack.

With Banchero adding a spark offensively for the Magic and G Franz Wagner having stepped up as well, points should come in bunches for both sides.

Also, the Magic have a defensive rating of 112.1, so defending is not a strength for the road side.
