Syracuse takes lead over Clemson with ridiculous 90-yard scoop-and-score

Syracuse’s Ja’Had Carter turned this game on its head.

The No. 14 Syracuse Orange went into Death Valley as a two touchdown underdog to No. 5 Clemson. Both ACC squads are undefeated through the first seven weeks of the college football season, but the Tigers were expected to roll against their Atlantic Division foe.

Early on, it looked as though D.J. Uiagalelei and the Tiger offense would be too much for Syracuse’s defense, especially with injury issues for the Orange. Clemson took an early 7-0 lead, but Cuse tied things up with an emphatic drive.

The visitors took the lead midway through the second quarter, however, thanks to an incredible defensive play by Marlowe Wax and Duce Chesnut as they forced Uiagalelei into a fumble at the Syracuse 7-yard line. Ja’Had Carter scooped up the loose ball at the 10-yard line and hustled 90 yards the other way for a touchdown and the 14-7 lead.

Can the Orange hold on for the huge upset?
