PHILADELPHIA–The Philadelphia 76ers looked dead in the water on Thursday at home against the Milwaukee Bucks. They weren’t able to come up with any rhythm on the offensive end and they couldn’t get any stops on the defensive end either.
Milwaukee built a 13-point lead before coach Doc Rivers made an adjustment and went small by putting PJ Tucker at the center spot. Rivers had been going to Paul Reed and Montrezl Harrell initially when Joel Embiid went to the bench, but when the two of them were ineffective, he went with Tucker and the Sixers took off.
The space allowed James Harden to do what he does and he scored 16 points in the fourth quarter on his way to 31 for the game before Philadelphia came up short in the comeback attempt in a 90-88 loss at home.
Afterward, the Sixers explain why they went small with Tucker and the benefits of it.
