Wisconsin football will host a familiar in-state face on Saturday when they take on the Purdue Boilermakers at Camp Randall Stadium.
After visiting Wisconsin back on October 1, 2023 in-state edge rusher Evan Herrmann out of Sussex, Wisconsin, will take a second unofficial visit to UW on October 22.
Per 247Sports, the three-star prospect is the No. 131 EDGE rusher in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 5 player in Wisconsin.
Although he only holds offers from Ohio, Wyoming, and Vanderbilt, Hermann has also heard from Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, and several others.
The 6-foot-6, 210-pound linebacker is a star track athlete and has emerged as a potential diamond in the rough, given his projectable frame and impressive athletic traits.
You can watch his HUDL film here.
I can confirm that there is significant mutual interest here; it’s just a matter of a scholarship finally being offered.
For a 2023 recruiting class that has fallen stagnant for myriad reasons, I don’t think it would be wise to pass on a late bloomer like Herrmann.
