Anthony Davis expected to play on opening night for Lakers

It looks like Anthony Davis will be good to go for the Lakers’ regular-season opener on Tuesday.

Out of the Los Angeles Lakers’ six preseason games this month, Anthony Davis suited up for only three due to lower back tightness.

When he played, he looked like his old, dominant self, grabbing rebounds with regularity, blocking shots and scoring with ease and efficiency.

The fact Davis only played half of L.A.’s exhibition games has raised concern among fans, not to mention criticism. Of course, his ability to stay healthy will be a major key to the Lakers’ chances of returning to the playoffs and being very competitive.

As the regular-season opener approaches, the good news is Davis is not only expected to play, but also will not have any restrictions.

It looks like Davis not playing in the team’s final exhibition contest on Friday was purely precautionary, and that he will be good to go moving forward unless he aggravates his back ailment at some point.
