Philadelphia 76ers rookie Michael Foster Jr. will reportedly be converted to a two-way contract ahead of the season opener, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Foster, who went undrafted from the NBA G League Ignite, originally signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the 76ers in July. The expectation was Foster would compete for a two-way contract, and the 19-year-old won the job after a strong offseason.
The Sixers will waive Charlie Brown Jr. to make room for Foster.
Foster played with the Sixers in summer league, averaging 5.9 points and 4.7 rebounds on 44.4% shooting from the field. He played sparingly with the Sixers during the preseason, though, totaling five points, seven rebounds, one assist and one block in three appearances.

Foster will split his time this season between Philadelphia and the Delaware Blue Coats in the NBA G League. He is eligible to spend no more than 50 games in the NBA and will earn a flat salary equal to 50% of the minimum salary applicable to a player with zero years of service.
