Despite a strong first half, the Wisconsin Badgers could not finish on the road to beat the Michigan State Spartans. The Badgers were able to force double overtime with a late touchdown, but they could not pull out the win falling 34-28.
The Wisconsin secondary struggled against the Michigan State wide receivers, who had several long touchdown catches including the game-winner. The game-winning catch; unfortunately, came after Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen’s first fumble of the season.
Even though Allen’s fumble proved costly, he was the majority of the Badgers’ offense against the Spartans. He rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz was influenced by heavy pressure throughout the game, despite making a couple of big throws.
Hopefully, the Wisconsin Badgers can get back in the win column next week in their homecoming game against the Purdue Boilermakers.
