It looks like the Los Angeles Lakers may not be at full strength when they begin their regular season at the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday of next week.
Anthony Davis will not play in their final preseason game versus the Sacramento Kings on Friday because of lower back tightness. It is an ailment that had already caused him to miss two exhibition games.
But now the team has a new injury concern, as guard Dennis Schroder suffered a finger injury in its last game on Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
He will not play against the Kings, and there is concern that this injury could keep him out for a while.
Via Lakers Daily:
“Veteran guard Dennis Schroder is dealing with a finger injury, and NBA insider Shams Charania recently offered a not-so-promising update on the matter.”
Lakers’ Dennis Schroder has suffered a finger injury and his status is up in the air ahead of regular season next week, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Schroder will not play in tonight’s game vs. Kings and is undergoing testing on severity and return timetable.

Schroder has been seen as an important pickup for the Lakers, as he gives them another ball-handling, distributing guard who can help preserve LeBron James and keep his workload down during the regular season.
