Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers wasn’t given an injury designation on the final injury report of Week 6 and will play Sunday against the New York Jets.
Rodgers injured his thumb on the final play of the Packers’ loss to the New York Giants last Sunday in London. He missed practice on Wednesday but returned as a full participant on both Thursday and Friday.
Coach Matt LaFleur said Rodgers proved he was ready to play during Thursday’s practice.
“He threw the ball really well yesterday, so he’s confident,” LaFleur said.
LaFleur also said he didn’t think the injury would limit Rodgers in the passing game in any way come game time.
Rodgers was seen wearing a protective wrap on his thumb during practice on Thursday, but LaFleur wasn’t sure if he would need anything to protect the injury during the game on Sunday.
The backup quarterback is Jordan Love. Danny Etling is on the practice squad.
Through five games, Rodgers has completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 1,157 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. His passer rating is 95.8.
Also on the injury front, offensive tackles David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins practiced all week and, like Rodgers, don’t have injury designations.
The Packers listed edge rusher Rashan Gary as questionable to play with a toe injury and ruled out receiver Christian Watson and outside linebacker Tipa Galeai out with hamstring injuries.
