Seahawks-Cardinals game could be pushed back on Sunday

The NFL announced the kickoff for Seahawks-Cardinals could be delayed an hour and a half, if the Seattle Mariners host a game in the ALDS.

The Seattle Seahawks’ Week 6 game against division rivals the Arizona Cardinals could be delayed on Sunday.

On Tuesday, the NFL announced the kickoff time for Seahawks-Cardinals could be moved by an hour and a half, if the Seattle Mariners host a game in the ALDS.

“The Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks game on Sunday will move from its scheduled 1:05 PM PT start to 2:30 PM PT on FOX if the Seattle Mariners host a playoff game that day,” said a release from the NFL.

“If the Mariners do not host a game that day, the Cardinals-Seahawks game will be played as scheduled at 1:05 PM PT on FOX.”

The Mariners’ stadium is in close proximity to Lumen Field, where the Seahawks play. So the thought process is it wouldn’t make logistical sense for  the city of Seattle.

Right now, the Houston Astros are up 1-0 in the series. If they win Thursday and Saturday to sweep the Mariners, the Seahawks-Cardinals game would kick off in its usual 1:05 p.m. PT slot. But if the Mariners win at least one game, kickoff would be moved to 2:30 p.m. PT.
