Losing a winnable road game 29-0 sent the pollsters scurrying to drop the Detroit Lions down in the Week 6 NFL power polls. On the heels of scoring 45 points a week earlier and also managing to lose that game, the Lions are almost universally in the bottom rung of teams after five weeks.
The Lions plummeted down to 30th at Touchdown Wire after the shutout loss. Two bad losses in a row will do that to a team,
The Lions were seemingly doing well through the first three games of the season, but they had trouble with the Seahawks last week and were shutout on the road against the New England Patriots. The Dan Campbell way may need a refresher in the Motor City.
It was a precipitous drop at USA TODAY, too. Detroit is down to No. 26 after holding at 19 a week earlier. The Ringer also (rightfully) lost faith in Detroit, tumbling Dan Campbell’s team to 27th after the loss.
ESPN lowered the Lions to 30th, dropping from 25th a week earlier. The decline wasn’t as dramatic at NFL.com, where Detroit now sits 26th after being No. 24 following Week 4.
