Don’t look now but USC and UCLA are a combined 12-0

USC and UCLA have each defeated their first six opponents in 2022

The battle for the Victory Bell on Nov. 19 is starting to shape up as a Big Ten, er Pac-12 classic.

Why?

Because as of October 8, 2022, both USC and UCLA are undefeated. The Trojans and Bruins are a combined 12-0, including seven wins in conference play.

The folks in the Big Ten have to like what they see in the West Coast schools that eventually are ticketed for that conference.

Each team has great quarterback play; the Trojans feature Oklahoma transfer Caleb Williams, and the Bruins Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

On Saturday Thompson-Robinson accounted for 5 TDs in a 42-32 win over 11th-ranked Utah.

Williams threw a pair of touchdown passes in a 30-14 win over Washington State at the LA Coliseum. The Bruins are 6-0 for the first time since 2005.

The Coliseum will be the site of the battle for the Victory Bell in November. While there are many hurdles to clear to get to that rivalry game, both schools are looking strong.
