Florida football’s homecoming game against the Missouri Tigers in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium creeps closer with Tuesday arriving on the calendar. In a few days, the Gators will take the field looking for their first Southeastern Conference victory in three tries as [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag]’s debut season continues to unfurl.
Florida’s two losses came against the Kentucky Wildcats at home in Week 2 and the Tennessee Volunteers on the road in Week 4. Mizzou has also failed to seize a win in either of its two SEC matchups this fall, dropping an overtime affair against the Auburn Tigers on the road in Week 4 and relinquishing a late lead against the Georgia Bulldogs at home last weekend to take the narrow defeat.
The visitors hold the all-time edge in this series, 6-5, going back to the 1966 Sugar Bowl, which Florida lost, 20-18. The two schools did not meet again until the Tigers joined the SEC in 2012; since then, they have split their 10 games facing each other.
