The SEC schedule is beginning to heat up, as every team within the league will play a conference game this weekend.
Among the matchups, this week include two ranked battles. No. 25 LSU hosts No. 8 Tennessee in a game that features two of the SEC’s top quarterbacks in Jayden Daniels and Hendon Hooker respectively.
Also clashing this week is the aerial attack of Mississippi State led by quarterback Will Rogers going against the hard-nosed style of Arkansas and quarterback KJ Jefferson.
Ahead of the busy week in the SEC, let’s take a look back at week five’s performances.
Despite having the weekend off, Tennessee‘s Hendon Hooker remains the top quarterback in the conference according to overall quarterback rating. In week four’s 38-33 win over Florida, Hooker completed 22-of-28 passes for 349 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed for an additional 112 yards and a touchdown.
Next in line are Alabama‘s Bryce Young and Georgia‘s Stetson Bennett. Young went 7-of-13 for 173 yards and two total touchdowns before exiting Alabama’s game over Arkansas in the first half with an apparent shoulder injury. Bennett threw for 312 yards and led his team over a scrappy Missouri team that had an upset on their mind.
