Through three games, the Pittsburgh Steelers offense has been hard to watch. They are currently near the bottom in every major statistical category including time of possession where they are dead last. This level of futility starts people pointing fingers and many have their aimed directly at offensive coordinator Matt Canada.
But according to starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky, Canada isn’t the problem. Trubisky went to bat for his offensive coordinator on Wednesday, putting it back on the players to make plays.
“Matt has been calling good games,” Trubisky said. “He’s been putting us in good spots. We’ve just gotta go out and make the plays for him and for this offense.”
I’m not sure if great is the word I would use but I digress. Trubisky certainly must shoulder some of the blame for his play as well. The hope is the two of them get on the same page sooner rather than later before the season is a loss.
