Sixers’ PJ Tucker provides update on knee after arthroscopic procedure

Philadelphia 76ers forward PJ Tucker provides an update on his knee after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure.

CAMDEN, N.J. — Shortly before the media day activities, the Philadelphia 76ers dropped unfortunate news, announcing PJ Tucker underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee.

However, they said he is cleared for on-court activities, and he will be available for the start of training camp in Charleston, South Carolina.

During his media availability on Monday, Tucker discussed the details of the procedure and said his knee is fine as he heads into camp with his new team.

“I’m doing great,” he said. “We did it. Time-wise it made sense. Go ahead and get it knocked out. It’s been six weeks since I’ve been cleared and back on the court and doing everything so I’m excited.”

Considering Tucker is 37 years old, one wonders if the Sixers will have to manage his minutes during the regular season so they can deliver a healthy Tucker to the postseason. The veteran out of Texas is going to be very important to whatever success Philadelphia has, so it would make sense to do so.

However, Tucker isn’t listening to any of that.

“I don’t know what that is,” he finished. “I just want to play. I just play. It’s not like a process or thought of, like, maybe I need to play, you know what I’m saying? Players play.”
