The Los Angeles Rams are now even in the punt block category. After Riley Dixon had his punt blocked by the Atlanta Falcons last week, Michael Hoecht got a block of his own on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
On the Cardinals’ first punt of the game following a three-and-out, Hoecht broke through the line and got his left hand on Andy Lee’s punt for the block. Jake Gervase caught the ball in the air and set the Rams up at the 35-yard line.
They turned that into three points with a field goal after the drive stalled at the goal line, but it was a key play early on.
Good way to get it goin’.
