For most of the 2023 recruiting cycle, it was a commonly held belief, that David Hicks, the top prospect in the state of Texas, and top defensive lineman in the country, would be waiting to announce his commitment at one of the All-American games held in the winter, just before the early signing day.
But on Friday, news broke that Hicks had decided to pull that announcement forward, and would be announcing his decision on Wednesday, September 28th.
Hicks, a teammate of A&M commit Daymion Sanford, at Katy Paetow highschool, has been a top A&M target for the entire cycle, and A&M is considered one of the top contenders to receive his pledge. Their primary competition is in Norman with Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners.
We know Hicks was in College Station for the Aggies win over Miami on Saturday, hopefully for the Aggies’ sake, the atmosphere at Kyle field, and the dominant play of the Aggies defense, featuring so many young players, was enough to push him to join the A&M family.
BREAKING: Five-Star DL David Hicks will announce his college decision on September 28th.
