NBA fans are convinced a burner Twitter account leaked the Ime Udoka relationship scandal before the news broke

NBA fans have so many questions.

Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka is likely facing a suspension for the entirety of the upcoming NBA season, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Udoka, who led his team to the NBA Finals last year during his first season as a head coach, reportedly engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a team staffer. Wojnarowski described the relationship as “consensual” and “intimate” while The Athletic’s Shams Charania used the word “improper” in his reporting.

Here is everything else that we know so far about the reported scandal.

One additional aspect of this story that has captured the attention of some NBA fans, however, is a tweet that was posted at 9:14 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

The tweet curiously stated that if there is one person who will never get fired for “sleeping around” it is Udoka.

Note that this tweet was posted more than an hour before 10:35 p.m. EST when Woj first posted about disciplinary action for Udoka. This was also several hours before 12:50 a.m. EST, which was when Charania first reported that Udoka had an “intimate” relationship with a staffer.

Additionally, this account had previously tweeted details about the NBA salary cap that only someone with a comprehensive understanding of the league would know.

Of course, this could be the strangest coincidence of all time. But due to the sensitive information involved, some NBA fans are wondering if this Twitter account may be a burner that belongs to someone close to the situation.
