While it’s tough to be too optimistic after an overtime loss, there were several players that had strong days for the Raiders. Maxx Crosby was great, as usual. Nate Hobbs continues to look like a star at cornerback and Duron Harmon appears to be a pretty solid safety.
But one player that hasn’t gotten enough love for his performance in Week 2 is Amik Robertson. Going into cutdown day, it wasn’t a lock that he would even make the team. But by Week 2, he was in the starting lineup and just had the best performance of his career.
Robertson got the start in the slot, playing 74 defensive snaps for the Raiders. According to Pro Football Focus, Robertson allowed just 45 receiving yards on seven targets and recorded a key interception on Kyler Murray before halftime.
He wanted it. He saw it. He took it.

The Raiders might have stumbled onto something with Robertson in the slot and Hobbs on the outside. This allows the Raiders to get two of their most aggressive cornerbacks on the field at the same time. Look for Robertson to start again in Week 3 as Anthony Averett remains out with an injury.
