Rams fans watching Sunday’s game against the Falcons were probably feeling great for about three and a half quarters. The Rams led 28-3 in the third, went up 31-10 with 12:13 left in the game and appeared on their way to an easy win at home.
Then chaos ensued and caused everyone to sit up in their seats, uncomfortably. The Rams’ lead went from 21 points to only six, and the Falcons were knocking on the door of the red zone with a chance to take the lead late in the fourth.
Fortunately, Jalen Ramsey came through with a clutch interception to save the game, but there was far too much stress induced by a near-implosion. Sean McVay echoed the feelings of just about every Rams fan after the game, saying he needed a couple of adult beverages.
“Holy hell, I need a couple drinks,” he said with a smile.
McVay admitted he probably would’ve been grumpy and frustrated after a win like this in years past, but he’s matured and learned that a win’s a win and he’ll take them any way he can get them.
The Rams are 1-1 and that’s all that matters – even if they do have “a lot of things” to clean up, as McVay put it.
