The Boston Celtics’ longtime rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers, are loading up on rotation players from what solid options remain on the market. After signing one former Boston point guard, Dennis Schroder, it seems the Lakers could bring on board another.
HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported former Celtics floor general Isaiah Thomas has “worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers along with several players, including Armoni Brooks, Sharife Cooper, Mychal Mulder and others” which include “former lottery picks Shabazz Muhammad and Jeremy Lamb. Dwayne Bacon (and) Miye Oni”.
It is unclear how the Schroder signing might affect the Lakers’ plans, but if the franchise does plan to move off veteran guard Russell Westbrook, Thomas as the team’s third point guard could make sense for Los Angeles.

As could IT’s shooting if he is able to recapture the 39.7% rate he was hitting in his NBA stint with the Charlotte Hornets last season.
