Marcus Smart, Dallas Cowboys quarterback? The Celtics guard offered his services while Dak Prescott heals

The Flower Mound native would not be the first Celtics multi-sport athlete — but was he serious?

While he would not be the first multi-sport athlete to suit up for the Boston Celtics, veteran point guard Marcus Smart certainly wouldn’t mind a shot playing a quarterback in the NFL if a recent interview of his on the “Rich Eisen Show” is to be believed.

In a recent appearance on the eponymous host’s sports talk show, the Flower Mound native revealed that if he were called on to fill in for injured Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott while he waits for his thumb to heal that he would be happy to do so. The Texan point guard is a big fan of the Cowboys, and his role with the Celtics is not so dissimilar in that he effectively quarterbacks Boston’s offense.

But is Smart really interested in playing pro football, or is he just kidding around?

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what the Oklahoma State product has to say for yourself.
