Jets safety Jordan Whitehead is dealing with an ankle injury and head coach Robert Saleh told the media Wednesday he is “definitely questionable” for Week 2 against the Browns. Saleh added the injury is “a week-to-week thing, at best.”
Whitehead will not practice Wednesday and, judging by his tone, seems unlikely to play Sunday. Furthering that point was the news that the Jets signed safety Will Parks to the active roster, calling him up from the practice squad. So Whitehead is questionable and probably would be closer to doubtful than he would be probable, if probable was still a game designation in the NFL.
Ashtyn Davis is listed as the backup to Whitehead on the depth chart. It will be interesting to see which direction the Jets go in if Whitehead indeed cannot play Sunday.
