Bears open as 9.5-point road underdogs vs. Packers in Week 2

There’s not a lot of confidence in the Bears heading into their Week 2 prime-time game against the Packers.

The Chicago Bears opened the 2022 season with a comeback win over the San Francisco 49ers, which kicked off the Matt Eberflus era on a high note. Unfortunately, the Green Bay Packers are on deck for a prime-time matchup in Week 2.

Chicago and Green Bay had opposite trajectories in Week 1, with the Bears playing smart, disciplined football and outlasting a potential Super Bowl contender while the Packers got destroyed by the Minnesota Vikings.

While the Bears are coming off a season-opening win, oddsmakers aren’t giving Chicago a chance to come away with a win in Green Bay. The Bears have opened as 9.5-point road underdogs against the Packers in Week 2, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

It doesn’t come as a surprise in the slightest, even with Green Bay coming off a brutal loss to Minnesota. The Packers — and Rodgers — have simply gotten the best of the Bears on most occasions. The hope is that’ll change under Eberflus and with quarterback Justin Fields.

Green Bay is the second of six playoff teams from last year that Chicago will face in the 2022 season.
