After missing all three preseason games while recovering from a knee surgery, Green Bay Packers rookie receiver Christian Watson will make his NFL debut during Sunday’s season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers officially removed Watson from the injury report, meaning he’s good to go – barring a setback – for Sunday.

The 34th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft will get a shot to immediately impact the passing game against the Vikings.

“He’s big, he’s physical, he’s fast. I think he’s really worked hard to get up to speed and maximizing his reps and opportunities,” coach Matt LaFleur said Friday.

LaFleur said Watson and Romeo Doubs are more mature than most rookie receivers at this stage.

Allen Lazard is doubtful to play, giving Watson a terrific opportunity to play snaps right away in Week 1.
