The Cincinnati Bengals ran through the AFC North in 2021 en route to the Super Bowl.
Some experts just don’t see a similar thing happening in 2022, though.
Over at USA Today, Nate Davis and a cast of experts made season-long predictions in the form of a graphic and the Bengals appear just once — as AFC North champions.
That was Safid Deen picking the Bengals to take the division, as his six other colleagues all picked the Baltimore Ravens to win the division. As such, the Bengals logo certainly doesn’t appear again under something like “AFC Champion.”
It might alarm Bengals fans to see something like this unfold, especially after the dismantling of the Ravens last year. But the Ravens re-tooled this offseason like the rest of the division, which is trying to adapt to what the Bengals did last year.
If nothing else, the division should be even more competitive in 2022. But Bengals fans should be plenty confident in contention again given the players returning and the upgrades made along the offensive line.
