Florida football gets set to host its season-opener against the Utah Utes on Saturday, as the Orage and Blue embark into a new era behind head coach Billy Napier and his army of staffers.
The visitors arrive in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium ranked in the top 10 in both the AP and Coaches polls and present a formidable opponent to kick off the 2022 schedule. On the other hand, Florida starts its campaign well outside the top 25 but much of that has to do with how the program crashed like a lead zeppelin at the end of Dan Mullen’s tenure.
There is a bit of a hill to climb for the Gators to get back to respectability, but many are confident in the new administration and its fresh approach to building the team. However, bookmakers such as the Tipico Sportsbook are not too bullish on Florida’s chances to start the season with a win.
