The St. Louis Cardinals are currently leading the NL Central and have one of the best records in the MLB.
Now back on the Cardinals, Albert Pujols is chasing 700 home runs and it’s incredibly exciting. Meanwhile, first-year St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol is getting his team fired up.
St. Louis fans are loving it, too, and that includes NBA superstar Jayson Tatum. Boston’s 6-foot-8 forward is born and raised in St. Louis and attended Chaminade College Preparatory School in Missouri.
He tweeted that before the NBA season begins, he wants to throw the first pitch at Busch Stadium. The Celtics will begin training camp at the end of September and play their first preseason game on October 2.
I gotta pull up to a game soon before season start. We been on fire! Throw out first pitch đź‘€ @Cardinals https://t.co/vvSs9hFAxM

During a game in September 2020, Tatum wore the Cardinals Jordan 34 that he designed. He wrote “R.I.P. Lou Brock” on the sneakers. He also once wore a Cardinals hat with another hat embroidered on it.
Tatum threw the first pitch at a Cardinals game in 2018, and he says that he is feeling ready to do it again.
While we recently learned that Tatum played through a wrist injury during the 2022 NBA Finals, it was on his left hand, which shouldn’t have too much impact on his ability to throw with his right hand.
