Commanders rookie RB Brian Robinson Jr. shot multiple times in apparent attempted robbery

The rookie is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. was shot multiple times in an apparent attempted robbery, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.

The injuries are not life-threatening, and Robinson is in stable condition. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Robinson was the victim of an attempted carjacking.

Robinson, a third-round pick from Alabama, is considered to be the top candidate to start in the backfield for the Commanders in Week 1 over incumbent Antonio Gibson.
