The Miami Dolphins have been dealing with some injuries at edge rusher in recent weeks, as Andrew Van Ginkel and Brennan Scarlett have both missed time.
According to ESPN’S Adam Schefter, the Dolphins are addressing this need by agreeing to terms with defensive end/outside linebacker Trey Flowers.
Flowers has spent time with the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots during his career. He was cut this offseason after signing a $90 million contract in 2019.
Unfortunately, Flowers has dealt with injuries over the past couple of seasons, playing in just seven games in 2020 and 2021.
While he can bring some depth to the group, he also provides more veteran leadership that the Dolphins will be glad to have.
