Patriots updated 80-man active roster after second cut deadline

A look at the Patriots’ roster after the second round of cuts.

Another round of cuts have come and gone, and the New England Patriots managed to get their roster down to the 80-man limit.

Perhaps the most notable move was the team’s decision to waive tight end Dalton Keene, the former third-round pick of the 2020 NFL draft. Keene had been plagued with injuries and never made the impact the team had hoped.

Defensive backs Devin Hafford and Jalen Elliott were also waived ahead of the deadline.

The other moves included the Patriots placing outside linebacker Ronnie Perkins on injured reserve, along with sending offensive lineman Andrew Stueber to the reserve/non-football injury list.

Teams are expected to have their rosters narrowed down to 53 players in the final round of cuts on August 30. So there will likely be more moves made by the Patriots to get closer to that number as the week goes on.

But for now, here’s what the roster looks like with 80 players.
