Is there a way for the Boston Celtics to trade for disgruntled Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant without having to gut their team to the point where it likely is not worth whatever boost he as an individual would bring to the team?
With trade talks evidently having ground to a standstill as a result of the Nets reportedly sky-high asking price, the answer appears to be a perhaps intentional “no” to any such question for Boston as long as Nets owner Joe Tsai, general manager Bobby Marks and the rest of the front office in Brooklyn demand such a haul.
But what if the situation drags into the 2022-23 regular season? Could the Nets change their tune at some point?
The question was explored by the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Beat” podcast with guest Ian Thomsen. Take a look at the clip embedded above to see if they think there’s a chance.
