Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum joined Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James among the main draws at Jamal Crawford’s CrawsOver Pro-Am on Saturday evening. The game featured a number of other established NBA stars and rising rookies who put on a show for a packed house before unsafe court conditions (condensation) shut down the event. A Tatum-to-James dunk made the highlights of the event.
“You don’t get a day like this often, but it’s my job to protect everybody’s safety,” offered Crawford via ESPN’s Kevin Pelton. “On the court, I couldn’t risk those guys taking a chance of getting hurt. It’s not worth that.”
“It’s supposed to drive inspiration and give hope and they did that. The job was accomplished,” he added.
There will always be quibbles about what could have been done better, even when the league gets most things right. https://t.co/DXsIGEjJJX

Tatum in particular had a series of deep 3-point shots that stood out for the Celtics’ part.
“We tried to provide an experience that we’ve never had before,” suggested Crawford. “I thought overall it was great because I think it’s moments and memories that the kids will never forget.”
