If you’ve been watching Major League Baseball lately then you might have noticed how they’re calling a lot more blocking the plate calls on catchers. It seems like every day there is a new call that doesn’t seem to make sense and leaves fans and players scratching their heads.
There was another one of those calls last night in the Tigers-Guardians game and it had Cleveland catcher Austin Hedges calling for MLB to apologize to his pitcher for the “embarrassing” call that led to Detroit taking a big early lead and changed the shape the game.
Here’s the play:

How does that get overturned by MLB?
You need to watch this passionate rant by Hedges about MLB. He makes a lot of good points and will likely be fined for those points but whatever, he’s right:
Austin Hedges doesn’t hold back one bit when discussing tonight’s umps of the Tigers-Guardians game
