Bo Nickal gets his next opponent and the attention of a former champion

Bo Nickal is taking over Dana White’s contender series and has his next opponent lined up.

[autotag]Bo Nickal[/autotag] is coming off arguably the most impressive performance of his athletic career. Yes, Nickal did win three national titles while at Penn State but going on the big stage in front of the UFC president and doing what he did last week is unheard of.

The 2019 Dan Hodge award winner was on the Dana White Contender Series last week and won via submission. The bout was total domination by Nickal as the whole thing was over in 62-seconds despite being scheduled for a maximum of 15 minutes.

It was announced during a UFC broadcast this past weekend and later confirmed by Nickal that he will be fighting under the promotion again in September.

His opponent in September is expected to be a stiffer test. He will be facing Donovan Beard who is currently a middleweight champion in another MMA promotion. His record is 7-1 compared to Nickal’s 2-0 record, despite all that the Penn State alum is still heavily favored to win.

Nickal is already getting talked about by current UFC fighters including the former middleweight champion of the promotion in Luke Rockhold. The former champion was asked for his thoughts by The Schmo and he commented “Bo Nickal would get abused, absolutely abused…it’s different, you know. It’s different. Wrestling is … you know, you can go so far until you run into the likes of me.”

Nickal took to Twitter to respond of course, mocking Rockhold for even talking about him in a since deleted tweet. Nickal will have plenty of time to earn the respect of veterans, for now he needs to focus on Beard.
