Without adding any new players on Tuesday, the Oklahoma Sooners recruiting class got a little bump as 2023 EDGE commit Adepoju Adebawore received five-star status from On3 Recruiting and in the 247Sports Composite database.
After receiving a huge bump in the latest Rivals update, Adebawore is now considered a consensus 100 player in the country and a top 10 edge rusher in the 2023 recruiting class. He’s now the second-highest-rated player among Oklahoma’s 2023 commits.
It wasn’t enough to move Oklahoma up in the 247Sports team recruiting rankings. However, after the commitment of Jacobe Johnson, the Sooners were five points back of No. 5 Georgia. Now, they’re just two points back.
Adebawore gives Oklahoma a second five-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. The last time the Sooners had multiple five-star players was in 2019 with Jadon Haselwood, Spencer Rattler, and Theo Wease.
The Sooners have been hot on the recruiting trail since June, including the commitment of Adebawore back in July. Paired with Colton Vasek, Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Sooners recruiting class put together a strong edge duo for 2023.
