WATCH: Texans DE Ogbonnia Okoronkwo recovers Saints fumble

Houston Texans defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo recovered a fumble for the defense’s second takeaway against the New Orleans Saints in preseason.

The Houston Texans have demonstrated in their first preseason game of the Lovie Smith era that they are at least opportunistic.

With 14:36 to go in the second quarter, defensive end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo recovered a loose ball that was the result of a botched center-quarterback exchange. The takeaway was also redemption for Okoronkwo, who committed a rougher the passer penalty the previous play.

The Texans used the free possession to mount a five-play, 47-yard drive. Quarterback Jeff Driskel connected with receiver Jalen Camp for a 4-yard touchdown to push the Texans ahead 10-7 with 11:54 to go in the second quarter.

Okoronkwo’s fumble recovery was the second takeaway for the Texans on the evening.
