Lawrence recovers after a slow start in his first action of the season

Lawrence puts together a solid night after a slow start.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars got back on the field for the second time this preseason Friday night for an NFL preseason game against the Cleveland Browns TIAA Bank Stadium in Jacksonville.

After being put in one of the worst situations any rookie quarterback could last season and spending a portion of the season under one of the worst NFL coaches we’ve ever seen, Urban Meyer, Lawrence is in a completely different situation in year two. Now under a proven super bowl winning coach in Doug Pederson, there is a lot of expectation for Lawrence to make a significant leap in year two.

Though Lawrence got out the gates slowly, starting 2-8 through the first two series, the young quarterback had a nice recovery drive on his third. He finished the game putting up 6-12 passes for 95-yards and a 9-yard touchdown to tight end Evan Engram.

Seeing Lawrence come out and turn things around after a shaky start is something you look for in a young quarterback. We will have to see if Lawrence suits up for another preseason game this preseason.
