USC and Lincoln Riley have recently attained balance in a very different kind of way. They have won a national recruiting battle on neutral ground, and they have also won a recruiting battle in the state of California, and more precisely, in Southern California.
The national recruiting win for Riley in recent weeks was linebacker Tackett Curtis. USC and Riley beat out Ohio State and Wisconsin for a Louisiana-based prospect. Now the Trojans have won the battle for Oxnard cornerback Maliki Crawford, beating out UCLA and Cal.
National win. Local win. Both four-star players. This is how USC is going to get the job done and thrive under Lincoln Riley.
