Ravens HC John Harbaugh gives perspective on first day of padded practice

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh talked about the team’s first practice with pads

The Baltimore Ravens kicked off training camp last week, and have been putting in work to get better in anticipation for the 2022 season. On Monday they put on pads for the first time, letting the coaching staff get a better feel for the players on their roster.

After practice, head coach John Harbaugh shared his thoughts on the first padded practice of training camp. He revealed that it was about what you would expect from the first day in terms of execution, but that the energy and effort was really high.

“Thought we were, first in the pads about what you expect.  Guys working hard, they were into it.  Energy and effort was really high, execution was spotty which you would expect on the first day of pads which for some reason.  It’s always like that, just gotta keep getting better every day”

The more the team practices and gets familiar with each other on the field, the less spotty the execution becomes as they get better. With training camp just a few days in, there will be some moments where certain things can be cleaned up, that’s what training camp is for at the end of the day. They can work on what needs to get better now instead of during the regular season, which is a much better option than having mistakes happen when it counts.
