Watson settles 3 lawsuits very early Monday, 1 remains

Sometime after midnight, attorney Tony Buzbee informed ESPN that 3 of the 4 remaining cases were settled:

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson looks to be wrapping up as much as possible related to the allegations made against him. What started as over 20 lawsuits became just four when many were settled almost two months ago.

Monday, Judge Sue Robinson is expected to make her decision known after taking a month to process the disciplinary hearing.

Sunday night, the NFLPA on behalf of Watson announced that they would not be appealing whatever decision Robinson makes in relation to the case. They asked that the NFL do the same. Around the same time, we also got word that the NFL and Watson held settlement talks in recent days but couldn’t come to an agreement.

Now, sometime after midnight early Monday morning came news from attorney Tony Buzzbee (pictured above) that three of the remaining four civil cases were settled:

The newest settlements, much like the previous ones, will have no impact on Judge Robinson’s decision.

Following Monday’s decision on discipline, as long as the NFL doesn’t appeal it, Watson will have one civil case and the suspension to serve before he can move forward from the lengthy process and numerous allegations that have hung over him for over a year.
