Jared Allen is going into the Minnesota Vikings’ Ring of Honor.
It’s a long time coming for the legendary defensive end that dished out punishment to opposing quarterbacks in his six-year run with the Vikings.
He arrived to the team back in the 2008 offseason, when he was traded by the Kansas City Chiefs for a first-round draft pick, two third-round picks and a swapped sixth-rounder. The Vikings obviously got a great return on investment with a five-time Pro Bowler and four-time First-team All-Pro defensive player.
Over the course of his illustrious career, Allen compiled 136 sacks, 228 quarterback hits, 648 tackles, 32 forced fumbles and six interceptions.
An absolute legend.

Allen hasn’t given up his hopes for a Pro Football Hall of Fame induction at some point. He was announced as a finalist for the 2022 inductions, as one of 15 players.
So perhaps the best is yet to come for one of the greatest players to ever wear a Vikings jersey.
