Did you see what was going on this past weekend, my friends? Grown men were gleefully showing up to camps all around the country. But not to just any type of sleep away camps where arts and crafts is on the schedule each day.
No, these men were going to something much more important than that. They were showing up to NFL training camps, which means the NFL season is now right around the corner, which means our Sundays and our Mondays and our Thursdays (and some of our Saturdays) are about to get a lot more fun.
It also means that summer is kind of almost over and if you’re a kid that’s always horrible news. But most of us are adults and that means we have some good times coming our way.
The NFL offseason can be a lot of fun, sure. Big trades and free agency signings can keep our football spirits up.
There are other enjoyable things, like ranking the new alternate helmets that lots of teams are going to wear this year (and making fun of the Bears’ awful new helmets).
But nothing beats real football and we’re getting closer to that. Before you know it we’ll be setting our fantasy lineups, making bets, and drinking way too early in the morning.
Glorious times are ahead. We’ve made it through another long NFL offseason.
