After signing Weatherspoon to a COVID-19 10-day hardship deal in December, the 25-year-old guard joined the Warriors for the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign on a two-way deal. Over 11 games in Golden State, Weatherspoon averaged 2.7 points on 57.1% shooting from the floor with 1.3 rebounds in 6.6 minutes per contest.
Against the Denver Nuggets in March, Weatherspoon notched a season-high 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field with two rebounds and an assist in 16 minutes.
In the past, the Warriors have found solid contributors on two-way contracts like Damion Lee, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Quinn Cook and Marquese Chriss.
Prior to joining the Warriors, Weatherspoon spent two seasons with the San Antonio Spurs after being drafted out of Mississippi State in the second round of the 2019 NBA draft.
