Earlier this week, in an announcement from Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association, Aggies’ standout offensive lineman, Layden Robinson, was nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team – an award in which student-athletes are recognized for exemplary community service, academic dedication and overall impact on and off the playing field.
Robinson has dedicated numerous hours to both the Brazos Valley community and on Texas A&M Athletics Sports Days in which volunteering at Twin City Missions to help clean up trash, wipe windows and mop floors, along with teaching young children sports and games at the local Boys & Girls Club is a standard occurrence. When he can, Robinson will even create football activities for the children to participate in, as well. As great as he is in the community and on the football field, Robinson is set to graduate in December 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
Established in 1992, the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team is one of the most prestigious community service awards in college football. From 114 total nominees, the final roster of 23 award recipients will include 11 student-athletes from the NCAA FBS, 11 student-athletes from the NCAA FCS, Divisions II, III and the NAIA, combined, along with one honorary head coach.
Congrats to @d_robinson78 on his nomination to the AFCA Good Works Team. 👍
