It was previously reported that Williams signed a four-year, $8.2 million deal. Williams was selected No. 34 overall in the second round of the 2022 NBA draft.
Williams received a part of the non-taxpayer mid-level exception, per Spotrac’s Keith Smith. The first two seasons are guaranteed at $2 million each while the final two seasons will be a team option each.

Second-round contracts require more work to finalize than the standard first-round rookie scale contract, but Williams ended up signing a typical contract where the first two years are only guaranteed.
