OKC Thunder make Jaylin Williams’ rookie contract official

The Oklahoma City Thunder made the signing official on Tuesday.

The Oklahoma City Thunder officially announced the signing on Jaylin Williams on Tuesday.

It was previously reported that Williams signed a four-year, $8.2 million deal. Williams was selected No. 34 overall in the second round of the 2022 NBA draft.

Williams received a part of the non-taxpayer mid-level exception, per Spotrac’s Keith Smith. The first two seasons are guaranteed at $2 million each while the final two seasons will be a team option each.

Second-round contracts require more work to finalize than the standard first-round rookie scale contract, but Williams ended up signing a typical contract where the first two years are only guaranteed.
