Kevin Durant is undoubtedly one of the most valuable players in the NBA, but the Nets are reportedly having trouble finding a serious trade offer for his services following his request in late June.
On ESPN’s First Take, Durant’s former teammate Kendrick Perkins sounded off on Durant’s situation. Perkins argued that potential trade partners can’t trust Durant, which could be holding up a deal. According to Perkins, the best option for Durant is to stay in Brooklyn and try to get the most out of Kyrie Irving.
“You can’t trust him. That’s the problem with KD. You can’t trust him. You don’t never know what’s going on in his mind. You don’t never know what he’s thinking – and that’s a problem if you’re an organization that’s investing a lot into Kevin Durant.Â
KD, I think he has to stay in Brooklyn at this moment. I think Brooklyn is the best option for Kevin Durant… I think he should run it back. I think he should have a ‘coming to Jesus’ meeting with his quote-unquote brother in Kyrie Irving. I think they should hash things out.”
