The Auburn Tigers are getting some NFL experience with a new hiring.
The NFL’s Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that Drew Fabianich, who has most recently served as a national scout for the Dallas Cowboys and has been with the team since 2003. Rapoport mentioned that Fabianich had “several NFL opportunities”, but it seems like he has chosen to join up with coach [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] and his staff to work with an SEC football team.
Rapoport’s tweet mentions that Fabianich will serve as a “General Manager and Director of Football Scouting and Development.” The Tigers have fallen behind recently in terms of recruiting, and the hiring of a scout who has contributed to what is now a very strong Dallas Cowboys roster could help draw bigger talent to the Plains.
It is unknown what Fabianich’s “general manager” position will exactly entail, but teams in college have hired them recently to coordinate everyday activities on the administration side of football teams, such as recruiting visits, hiring staff and overseeing events.
Long-time #Cowboys National Scout Drew Fabianich is making a move to big-time college football. He accepted the job of General Manager and Director of Football Scouting and Development for Auburn Football, source said. With several NFL opportunities, Fabianich opts for college.
